This is a 10* NL GOM on the Cards. Neither team has been great to start the 2024 season. These teams play on Tuesday, the day I'm releasing this pick. No matter what happens in that particular contest, I really like Sonny Gray and the home side in this matchup at home on Wednesday afternoon, so I'm going to suggest to lay the price with confidence. In my professional opinion, this is the very definition of "great line value," as I feel that this line could/should in fact be a lot larger in favor of Sonny Gray (4-1, 0.89 ERA) and the home side. The visitors will be countering with Jose Quintana (1-3, 5.20.) I'll be the first to tell you to not overreact to early results for teams or players (whether good or bad), and while regression is surely going to happen sooner or later for Gray, I still can't see him fading enough in this matchup to give the struggling Quintana any hope at all. Quintana most recently was shelled for eight runs off ten hits over two innings in a loss to the Rays on Friday. As stated above, great line value overall, so the play is ST. LOUIS. Good luck, NP |

This is an 8* SITUATIONAL PITCHING MISMATCH on the Phillies. The Phillies have been great so far this year and with their veteran "ace" on the mound in this early afternoon contest, I think that they should/could in fact be a much larger favorite in this matchup. Toronto is 8-12 on the road as of Tuesday, while Philly is 14-6 at home. The Jays hand the ball to Chris Bassitt (2-5, 5.45 ERA), while Nola (4-1, 3.32 ERA) will indeed counter for the home side. Bassitt is off a 6-1 loss to the Royals, while gave up two runs over five innings in a no-decision to San Francisco. Nola is primed for another big day here on Wednesday afternoon though, as I expect him to easily get the better of Bassitt, who has been consistently inconsistent, especially on the road. Lay the price with confidence, the play is PHILADELPHIA. Good luck, NP |
